Atlanta Falcons
There were plenty of warning signs about Michael Vick. In 2005 he knew he had genital herpes. He was getting treatment under the alias Ron Mexico. At the same time he was knowingly spreading herpes. Then he denied any wrong doing when first confronted about the dog fighting issue. Author Blank stood by his side through all that. It wouldn't surprise me if Author Blank stands by his side when he gets out of jail. He seems to have a fetish for Michael Vick.
It was a mistake to fire Jim Mora Jr. I wish him the best when he takes over the Seahawks. The Falcons signing Michael Turner is a mistake. A quarterback takes two or three years to develop. A running back produces right away. The best running back in the draft is Darren McFadden. Darren McFadden can take pressure off the quarterback issue and be the face of the franchise.
The Falcons made another mistake by hiring Mike Smith. He's only going to last until the Falcons can get some talent and a big name coach comes up that is willing to take the cash bait that Author Blank throws at him. Again the Falcons should have went for Marty Schottenheimer.

Atlanta FalconsI agree on all statements except the Michael Turner signing. That will be a good move I believe for the Falcons. He is a proven runner in this league. He will also know how to pick up blitzing corners and linebackers to protect whoever will be the quarterback. |

Atlanta FalconsI think the Falcon's owner is named Arthur Blank, unless you were referencing someone who wrote a book = author. Biggest mistake was letting Mora go, but that was a direct result of the inability for Michael Vick to perform consistently on the football field, aside from the off the field issues. I think Turner will be a far better producer from the RB position than McFadden will be this year. Let's revisit this post in November and compare the two player's stats. After watching the draft I think the Giants and Patriots have the goods to make again this year. |
